Above: ‘Dribbling’ Technical Practice
The 3 ‘jobs’ on the white board (When Should I Dribble, When Should I Change Direction and How Should I Dribble) are the focus areas for the players to look and achieve.
Players Worked With –
I worked on this practice with male u8 players aged, who played at grassroots level within a semi-professional club.
How it Went –
The practice was fun. It is an engaging topic for players. I felt that it improved further with additional progressions, for example – You a allowed to Dribble through the square once to try and catch the opposite player.
How to Improve –
If I were to do this again, I would place greater emphasis on the learning which is supposed to take place. For example, awarding points for successfully Dribbling for 30 seconds, etc.
