Women’s Football Day, Poland

In April 2015, I attended the Women’s Football Day seminar, having been invited by Coach Marek Dragosz.

Marek Dragosz is a UEFA A License Goalkeeper coach, with National Team experience. He has a calm, humble exterior which totally contradicted the obvious hard work he and his small team had done, in organising the event which was supported by the Polish Football Association.

Coach Marek Dragosz

This was an excellent event, very enjoyable, where I formed part of a team of 4, who specialised in the following fields –

  • Football Fitness
  • Goalkeeping
  • Football Injuries
  • Football Technical Practice

We delivered our 40 minute sessions within the indoor, 4G field, surrounded by the on-looking Polish coaches. The field was filled with individuals who had a high knowledge. Even our interpreter was a Pro License coach!

I delivered a technical practice to the players we were given to work with. These were female players who spoke very little or no English. They were aged between 11-14yrs. I soon found that they understood the language of football.

Watch Some My Session

We were treated really well, as the event was attended mainly by Polish coaches who went from our practical deliveries to our class-room based seminar. The coaches were able to ask us questions about our sessions and find out a little more about us, our background in the game and our philosophies.

Watch Some of My Seminar

Each of the specialists had a background in playing and were actively involved in the game. It was great to meet people from another culture and learnt about their commitment to developing our game.

I had never visited Poland before, as I tend to prefer going to hot countries when I travel. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Warsaw was a lovely place, with great restaurants, historical, attractive landscape and a subtle passion for the game.

I am pleased to have been invited and I look forward to attending this great seminar on a regular basis!
