At the start of one of our training sessions, I gathered the players together in the changing room. I was concerned that the players were struggling to bond. There were petty arguments on and off of the field and as a team, their performance was suffering.

This little workshop took approximately 20 minutes.

I wrote down 2 questions, asked the players to get into groups according to their positions, so all Defenders plus the GK worked together, all midfielders, etc.

They had to work together. I also needed to know a little more about what they knew of the game and how they translated their knowledge. I was pleasantly surprised….
